My biggest complaint with the mini has always been the clunky-ness of the shifter. Of course this being my first cable actuated shifter I had no idea how “normal” it was supposed to feel, so rather than just throw stock replacement parts at it hoping to improve the feel I went all out and bought this. An adjustable short shifter made by cravenspeed, it’s a very nice piece of work and paired with the included aluminum shifter housing bushings feels a lot better than stock. My only complaint with it being the adjustment collar doesn’t fit as snug as it could and you might accidently change the height of the shifter if you have a heavy handed shift.

Nice!

I quite like the stock shifter feel and its a PITA to remove the exhaust to install the shifter kit.

Eh if it’s much consolation most Minis I’ve driven have been ok but my Alfa feels like stirring soup.

I loved the shifter on mine, except it would get frozen overnight in very cold temperatures

Mine gets very difficult to move after a cold night as well.

And shifting into 1st is always tricky, I have to ease it into gear.
